What you wear against your skin matters

Now, I’m going to start this blog off with a term I once heard from a doctor. “Do as I say, not as I do“. Yes, a doctor told me that once, but he was funny about it and had my best interest at heart. Anywho, I say that because if you look in my closet, I don’t own that many 100% cotton items, but I have some good advice to give.

Now why is it important what your clothes are made out of? Well, if you live in a humid and hot place (just about any southern state you can think of), you need clothing that breathes. I wear a poly blends more than I prefer and dadgum it’s HOT! Slip on some cotton clothes, and viola! you have cool, comfortable clothes that don’t make you feel like a sweat box! I first got into this whole “cotton thing” when a friend of mine posted a blog about it. You can see it here: http://www.domesticgeekgirl.com/health-home/health-benefits-of-wearing-natural-fabrics/  This got me to thinking about how my clothes effect how I feel physically and mentally. When I am uncomfortable I’m not in the best mood and feel distracted. So I have slowly started to change my wardrobe up. If I can’t get something in 100% cotton, I get it as close as I can.

So say you have now read her blog, want to get some natural fiber clothing, but your on a budget. No problem! There is a blog about that too! ——>  http://www.domesticgeekgirl.com/crafts-diy/thrift-store-hunting-guide-buying-natural-fabric-clothing/

So there you have it! great ways to get excellent at a decent price!
